Comprehensive Curriculum
We go in-depth to cover the current curriculum your child will be following at school, ensuring that all subjects are covered, including verbal and nonverbal reasoning, English, maths, and extensive exam coaching.
At their open day this year Blue Coat announced that they are changing their entrance exam. From September 2024, a company called Future Stories Community Enterprise will be creating their papers.
While we are not certain of the exact structure and timings, we think the format will be similar to the following:
English:
- Creative Writing: 5 minutes for planning, 25 minutes for writing.
- Comprehension: 20 minutes to answer 20 questions.
- Vocabulary: 5 minutes to choose the word most similar in meaning to a given word out of five options (15 words total).
- Missing Letter (Spelling): 10 minutes to fill in the missing letter for 20 words.
Maths:
- Multiple Choice: 20 minutes to answer 25 questions.
- Free Form: 20 minutes to solve 20 questions.
This change marks a significant shift from the traditional in-house exam structure, introducing new formats and time constraints for the 11+ exam.
